The way Massachusetts funds its public schools is broken.

Staff shortages, enormous class sizes, outdated textbooks and technology, crumbling buildings, and no after-school programs: This is the reality for thousands of kids in the Commonwealth.

While the demographics and needs of our state’s student population have changed, the school funding formula, enacted in 1993, remains the same. Our most vulnerable kids sit in classrooms at under-resourced schools as the achievement gap between these students and those in wealthier districts continues to widen.

A child’s zip code shouldn’t determine the quality of the education he or she receives.

Become a part of Stand for Fair School Funding to ensure all Massachusetts children receive the high-quality education they deserve. Together, we’ll fight for Massachusetts to invest in our schools and fully fund special education programs and services, English-language learning, the needs of economically disadvantaged students and, health care benefits for current and retired staff.
